Getting Started

Thank you for your interest in using the Portland Pod and Media Lab. To utilize the space you must:

General Information

A reservation reserves one workstation in the Pod or Media Lab for up to two hours. Users are expected to supply materials for projects. All material must have original label and be evaluated by staff prior to use to ensure safety.

Workstations available by reservation:

  • Cricut Maker 4
  • Brother PE 900 Embroidery Machine
  • Baby Lock Joy Sewing Machine
  • AccuQuilt Fabric Cutter
  • XTool heat press
     

Appointment Policies

  1. Requests must be submitted no less than 3 days in advance, and no more than 21 days in advance.
  2. You may submit up to two active requests. After those are scheduled, wait until one is complete before requesting another.
  3. Submitting the form does not guarantee your reservation. Staff will confirm or suggest alternatives.
  4. Requests can be made up to 21 days ahead.
  5. Limit: 2 reservations per day, 4 per week, per patron.
  6. Arrive within 15 minutes of your start time or the slot will be offered to others.
  7. You may only occupy one workstation at a time. If you need to use multiple workstations to complete a project, you will need to submit a reservation for each station.
  8. Families/groups with children under 12 years old may reserve one workstation per group. Children must be supervised by an adult who has completed Maker 101 Orientation.
  9. The Portland Pod is not available as a meeting space. The Portland Pod is not available on Sundays.
  10. Food, drink, gum, candy, and beverages are prohibited in the Portland Pod with the exception of water in a twist-top container.

You must complete MS101 and have a waiver on file with LFPL before any other appointments will be scheduled.
